What Is Lung Cancer?
Lung cancer refers to the development of cancerous cells and tumours in the lungs. These are two sponge-like organs located in the chest. These are important for breathing processes and aid in oxygen intake and release of carbon dioxide.
Lung cancer has become quite common and is increasingly becoming the leading cause of death across the globe. People who smoke are at higher risk of developing this disease. However, it may also occur in non-smokers. Depending on the number of cigarettes smoked and the increasing length of time, the risk factors of the disease increase.

Smoking is one of the primary causes of lung cancer. People exposed to secondhand smoke for long periods are also vulnerable to developing this disease. The lungs are lined by a layer of cells that starts getting damaged in the cases of prolonged smoking.
Many carcinogens included in cigarette smoke have the ability to alter lung cells. At first, the body might be able to fight off the damage and heal it, but as time goes on, the damage gets worse and can even cause abnormal behaviour that causes the cells to proliferate uncontrollably.
In addition, a family history of lung cancer, radiation therapy of any type in the past, and exposure to radon gas, asbestos, or other carcinogens are risk factors that may also result in lung cancer.
The lung cancer ayurvedic treatment involves using the therapeutic measures to ensure a better treatment course.

- Stage 1 is reached when cancer cells are present in lung tissues but haven’t reached the lymph nodes.
- At stage 2, the infection may start spreading to your lymph nodes around the lungs.
